Dofollow backlink
A link from another website that passes ranking signals (link equity) to the page it points to, helping it rank higher in search.
A dofollow backlink is a standard hyperlink that search engines are allowed to follow and count as a vote of confidence. Unlike a nofollow link, it passes link equity (sometimes called “link juice”) from the linking page to the destination, which can improve the destination's authority and search rankings.
Any link is dofollow by default; a link only becomes nofollow when it carries a rel="nofollow" attribute. Dofollow links from relevant, high-authority sites are among the strongest off-page SEO signals, which is why founders actively build them through directories, digital PR, and content.
